1. What do you do here?Afternoons from 2pm-7pm right here on KICKS 105.5!
2. How did you get into radio? I sort of grew up around radio. My father is Ethan Carey and hosts the morning show on our sister station WRKI. I started out doing weekend overnights on WRKI when I was 16 years old and worked my way up from there. I've been doing various things in this building for 9 years including 2 stints at Promotions/Marketing Director, different airshifts, and as the Official Tea Maker of KICKS 105.5. I've left this buidling twice and I keep coming back. I've left radio once and I came back. I can't imagine doing anything else.
3. Who are your favorite groups or artists? I am a closet Train fan. Well, I guess it's not a closet thing since everyone knows. I'm actually obsessed with Train and I think they are great. I also like Eagles, Goo Goo Dolls, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Maroon 5, Jason Mraz, Ethan James, Barenaked Ladies, Aerosmith, John Mayer, John Mellencamp, U2, Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys, Beatles, and Dr. Kelsing and the fourteenth street band of short guys (Okay I made that one up).
4. Do you have a "brush with fame" story?When I hosted an afternoon drive show on an oldies station I got to interview my childhood idol Davey Jones from the Monkees! I was so excited!
5. Do you play a musical instrument? I once got an acoustic guitar as a gift and I taught myself to play two cords. The problem is I can't play them together. So the answer is no. I do play the drums on my steering wheel like nobody else.
6. What are your hobbies outside the radio station? I spend a lot of time on Candlewood Lake on a rather large and slow pontoon boat. I like to go to Met's games (I love them even though they are terrible. A true sports fan can love a team like I do even though they are horrible. It's easy to love a team who wins all the time). I enjoy skiing, driving, eating,. adult beverages, golf with radio people, softball, and other outdoor type activities.
7. What are your favorite movies? My favorite movie of all time is "Shawshank Redemption", I also like "Tommy Boy", 'Superman", "Miss Congeniatlity", "Field of Dreams" (and most every other baseball movie for that matter).
8. Your favorite TV shows? I'm a gigantic Seinfeld Fan. I like CSI (the original), House, and Met's games.
9. What sports teams do you root for? I've been a New York Met's fan forever! I will go to see any baseball game though.
10. What's your "guilty pleasure"? Twilight- Go Team Jacob!
11. What are your favorite websites?
I visit the New York Post, Facebook , and Mets.com on a daily basis. I also love ask jeeves; I love to research things and gain information. Like for instance; what is the active ingredient in suntan lotion? And how was suntan lotion discovered? Lifes answers are on ask.com
